Industry Solutions

The same trading capability is applied very differently from one industry to the next. A machine builder cares about a part still being available in ten years; a private-label brand cares about the retail price and the launch date. Six industries we work in, and how each one is actually served.

The Same Capability, Different Priorities

One supply chain, six sets of requirements

Vemlora is not a specialist in a single product family. We source, qualify, consolidate and document electronics and hardware across several industries, and we adjust the specification, the inspection plan and the shipping pattern to what each industry actually needs.

Specification discipline

Every order begins with a frozen part list: material, grade, tolerance, finish, packaging and the approved maker. Nothing is substituted without written agreement.

Compliance by market

Compliance is matched to the destination, not to the factory's own certificate. RoHS, REACH, CE, UKCA, FCC, ENEC and UL documentation is collected per order.

Volume that fits the demand

Pilot runs, scheduled releases, buffer stock and container programmes are all available from the same supplier, so the model can change as your demand does.

Industry 01

Industrial automation & machinery

What the customer needs

  • Long-life parts with locked specifications, because a machine sold in 2024 must still be serviceable in 2034.
  • Component-level traceability and lot control, so a failure can be traced back to a production batch.
  • A supplier that can keep a hard-to-find connector or relay available after the original maker discontinues it.

What Vemlora supplies

  • Control and driver boards assembled to your schematic or ours, with functional test and burn-in records.
  • Connectors, relays, switches and protection devices in industrial temperature grades.

Reference Project Scenarios

Three anonymised examples of how this works in practice

Client names and trade marks are omitted. Figures are rounded and shown to illustrate the shape of the work, not as a forecast for any other project.

Scenario 01 — Reference project scenario

A European distributor consolidating six suppliers

The problem

A distributor of electrical installation products bought relays, enclosures and cable accessories from six different suppliers in Guangdong and Zhejiang. Each supplier shipped separately, each invoice carried its own freight minimum, and the distributor spent two days a month reconciling documents. Average landed cost was running roughly 9 % above the ex-works price.

Our approach

We moved all six supply lines under one Vemlora order. Suppliers were audited, specifications were frozen in a written part list, and every line was contracted through our Hong Kong entity. Goods were received in Kwai Chung, inspected line by line, re-packed into uniform export cartons and released as a single LCL shipment every six weeks against a rolling release schedule.

The outcome

Six suppliers became one contract, one invoice and one shipment. Freight and documentation cost fell by about 22 % per shipment, the average landed cost dropped roughly 7 %, and the distributor's own administrative workload fell from two days a month to roughly three hours. Stock-outs on the two fastest-moving references dropped to zero over the following year.

Scenario 02 — Reference project scenario

A machinery builder needing a discontinued connector

The problem

A machine builder in Southeast Asia was told by its original connector maker that a 3.96 mm pitch wire-to-board housing used on a control panel would be discontinued in two quarters. The machine was still in production and roughly 400 units a year were expected to ship for another five years. A redesign would have required re-testing and re-certifying the panel.

Our approach

We tooled a drop-in replacement housing and crimp contact to the original drawing. Electrical and mechanical characteristics were matched to the datasheet - pitch, current rating, insulator material and plating - and the customer approved samples against a golden reference on their own line. A last-time-buy of the original part covered the transition, and a 12-month buffer stock was held in Kwai Chung.

The outcome

The replacement was qualified in nine weeks at a fraction of the cost of a panel redesign, which had been estimated at several months of engineering time. The customer kept the machine in production without re-certification, and a stock of about 18 months of forecast usage removed any line-stop risk during the changeover.

Scenario 03 — Reference project scenario

A brand owner developing a private-label charger

The problem

An online brand owner wanted a 65 W dual-port charger under its own brand. The target retail position left limited room for landed cost on the product and its packaging. There was no in-house electronics engineering, no existing supplier and no confidence about which safety standard would be required for the EU and the UK.

Our approach

We started from an existing 65 W GaN platform rather than a clean-sheet design, so only the housing colour, logo, plug set and retail packaging were new. A design-for-manufacturing review reduced the enclosure to one moulded part, an EU and UK compliance plan was agreed in writing, and IEC/EN 62368-1 testing was booked with an accredited laboratory before tooling release.

The outcome

First samples were approved in five weeks and mass production started in week eleven. Landed cost came in at quoted per unit including retail packaging, leaving margin headroom inside the target retail price. The first production run of 3,000 units sold through in seven weeks, and repeat orders moved to a 6,000-unit release schedule.

Getting Started

How engagement usually starts, industry by industry

Most first contacts are short: a part list, a drawing, a target price or a competitor sample. The six answers below describe what we normally ask for and what the first order tends to look like.

OEM & ODM manufacturing management

How our supply chain works

Request an indicative quotation

Engagement normally starts with a part list and a sample, not a purchase order. Send the drawings, the approved-maker references and the quantities you use per year; we return a shortlist of factories, a price comparison and a note on which references carry obsolescence risk. A first order is usually 200 – 500 pcs per part, and a service-parts buffer is discussed at the same time.

Start with the target retail price, the destination markets and the shipping date. We work backwards from there to a specification, a compliance list and a landed cost, then send sample units from an existing platform. Most customers approve samples first, place a pilot run of 1,000 – 3,000 pcs, and scale to a container order once sell-through is confirmed.

Distributors and panel builders usually begin with a mixed enquiry: standard components plus one or two custom parts. We quote the standard lines from the catalogue and the custom parts separately, with enclosure and finishing options. Once the technical data is agreed, a frame order with monthly releases keeps installation sites supplied without holding the whole quantity at once.

Engagement starts with the vehicle application and the reference range, because testing follows the application. We confirm the material and grade first, quote tooling where a new die or mould is needed, and agree the inspection and PPAP level before production. Harness projects typically begin with a sample set built from your drawing for fitment approval.

Send the electrical specification, the dimming protocol and the destination markets. We reply with the certification route, an efficiency and burn-in test plan, and commercial terms at three volume steps. Because freight is a material share of landed cost on power products, the quotation usually includes a packing study so more units fit per container.

Start with the target retail price, the packaging concept and the launch date. We propose a platform close to your requirement, quote tooling and artwork separately, and produce a pilot run of 500 – 1,000 pcs for photography and channel testing. Repeat orders are released against forecast, with storage and pick-and-pack available from our Kwai Chung facility if you prefer not to hold stock.

Which industry are you buying for?

Send your part list, drawing or target specification together with the destination market. We reply with commercial terms, the compliance route and the shipping pattern that fits your demand.
